Why must the world be so biased? (Chapter 13, 15)

Days and weeks passed, and I began to know the family that I lived near. I had planned it out, since the old man was blind, he would not be prejudiced against the way I look, so when he was alone, I would go in and talk to him. As I entered the De Lacey household, the old man, who was the only one there, welcomed me. He gave me some great advice in an unbiased way. I wonder if he would have treated me the same way if he was able to see me. Unfortunately, Felix, Safie, and Agatha entered, and Felix tore me from the cottage and beat me with a stick. I limped back to my hovel, unseen and broken, both physically and spiritually.
